This painting was a small comission for my friend opening her business for woman’s health.

The goal was to decorate the space and create a painting that is both soothing and depicting a woman as the main character.

For some reason when deciding on what to do, I immediately thought of Baba yaga. A character in slavic mytholog. I wanted to depict her as a guardian and figure of beauty at the same time. Creating a time and space where these two adjectives are synonyms especially for older women often characterize as uncharming and unproductive once passed a certain age.

A small ode to the fantastic elderly woman that shaped my life.
